Experience
I was most recently an English as a Second Language (ESL) instructor in the Adult Education department of Bluegrass Community and Technical College. I am currently staying home with my toddler. However, I still tutor in the evenings. My teaching and tutoring experience is as follows: -2018: Tutoring adult ESL students -2017: Tutor to high school ACT students -2015: Adult Education ESL instructor -2014: Adult Education ESL instructor -2013: Business and Personal English instructor in Bielefeld, Germany and surrounding areas (CETraining) -2011-2013: Undergraduate assistant in ESL courses at the University of Kentucky College/high school qualifications: -Summa Cum Laude -GRE essay score of 5.5 -ACT score of 35 English, 34 Reading, 31 Science, 25 Math (cumulative 31) -Earned AP credit for two college English courses in high school I love reading and writing. They are my passions! I am happy to help anyone with anything in the English field, whether that be literature or even something so simple as how to study effectively. Language learning in particular is extremely fascinating to me - I myself speak English and Spanish and some rudimentary German. I enjoy teaching and learning from people of all ages and cultural backgrounds. I have only gotten excellent feedback from students in the past, both ESL and otherwise. I've won several writing awards at UK for critical research essays, have been the recipient of grants for said essays, and have taken countless literature and language learning courses. I wrote an extensive undergraduate thesis about cultural issues manifested by language usage in pieces of U.S. literature. I've also completed several intensive research projects.

Hobbies
I love to read Victorian/Romantic period novels in particular, but I enjoy most books. I enjoy writing creatively and academically. Beyond that, I spend most of my time with my three year old daughter. I am currently teaching her to read and write in English, German, and Spanish. I also love playing with my Australian Shepherds, riding my bike, and cooking/gardening with my husband.
